The Special Committee on Electoral Reform (ERRE) has begun their public hearings! In stops across the country, you will have the chance to make your voice heard about changes to our voting system.
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 27 – VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA
Location: McKenzie Room, Harbour Towers Hotel and Suites, 345 Quebec Street
Public witness hearings: 4:00-5:15 PM, 6:30-7:45 PM
Open mic times: 7:45-9:30 PM
At least one meeting will be held in each province and territory. The Committee has tried to reach larger cities as well as more rural areas. You can read the details about the Committee hearings below.
For those who cannot make the in-person hearings, there are other ways to take part, including an online consultation. You can:
- Listen to the hearings online at parlvu.parl.gc.ca
- Check with your MP about their local town hall meeting – list of local events
- Answer the online questionnaire
- Submit a brief to the Committee or request to appear

Please note that the open mic opportunities are first-come-first-serve and you must arrive at least 30 minutes early to sign up to speak. You will also need government-issued ID to add your name to the speakers’ list.
