Dear Paov,
Despite massive opposition from tens of thousands of citizens, Prime Minister Trudeau has green lighted the Pacific NorthWest Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) plant on BC’s north coast.
Frankly, it’s appalling that this project was approved. Not only would it be the largest source of carbon pollution in the country, it will wreak havoc on the Skeena salmon run and the way of life of Indigenous peoples all along the river.
This is a sign the federal government has no intention of meeting its climate targets. We’re going to have to do it for them.
Sign the petition today! We’re ramping up our efforts to stop the LNG industry in BC before it starts. Our politicians are failing us even as climate alarm bells ring louder each day.
We will continue to support the Lax Kw’alaams who are occupying Lelu Island in their fight against Pacific Northwest LNG. We will continue to expose the failing economics and climate impacts of these projects. We will continue to fight for a ban on fracking in British Columbia which would cut off supply for any of these projects.
We need you to join us. We've got 5,855 signatures so far, help us get to our next goal of 7,000!
Sign our petition to ban fracking in British Columbia. And please make a donation to fight Pacific Northwest LNG and other LNG projects in British Columbia.
Donate now!Let's show Prime Minister Trudeau and Premier Clark that Canadians know LNG is a big mistake.
This fight is just getting started.
