Dear Paov,
We’re excited to announce our Site C town hall event on Wednesday, October 26. The town hall will cover the impacts of the project in the Peace Valley and its citizens.
There’s no apter title for this event than Premier Clark’s $9 Billion Heist, which speaks to just how much BC taxpayers will be on the hook for – if the Site C dam is built.
We are partnering with Council of Canadians to organize and host this town hall.
We’ve got an amazing roster of speakers for the evening! Grand Chief Stewart Phillip of the Union of BC Indian Chiefs, Emma Gilchrist of DeSmog Canada and Ben Parfitt of the Canadian Council of Policy Alternatives will discuss the impacts of the Site C dam.
RSVPYou’ll hear the latest information about the $9 billion dam project, which is putting British Columbians deep in debt, to the benefit of a few corporations – all for power that BC doesn’t need and will only be able to sell at a massive loss.
You’ll hear the latest on First Nations community members facing the loss of over 100 kilometres of rich valley-bottom lands slated to be drowned under the planned reservoir.
And you will learn about the growing fight against the Site C dam – everything from court cases, to protests to community events – and what you can do to help.
WHAT: Site C Town Hall Meeting
WHEN: Oct 26th @ 7 - 9 p.m.
