PAOV --

In December
2015, world leaders met in Paris to craft and sign the landmark Paris
Agreement. Since then, we have seen even more science supporting an
urgent need to curb global temperature rise and radically reduce
carbon emissions worldwide. We have also seen a potentially promising
Pan-Canadian Framework on climate change, and deeply concerning new
leadership south of the border. For All these reasons and more,
the Canadian Youth Delegation (CYD) is excited to be returning to COP
to hold our government accountable to the climate action we all need
and deserve.
The Canadian Youth Climate Coalition (CYCC) is now accepting
applications to join the CYD to the 23rd annual Conference of the
Parties (COP23) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate
Change (UNFCCC). The delegation will be made up of 5-8 youth from
across Canada. All applicants must be between the ages of 18-30 by
December 1st, 2017. Online applications are due Sunday, May 28th
before midnight PST. Shortlisted applicants will be contacted in for
an interview.
The Canadian Youth Delegation is a voice of the Canadian youth climate
movement at international United Nations climate conferences. Made up
of dedicated and inspiring leaders from across the country, the
delegation represents the demands of a generation working to create a
just, safe, and livable future for all. Together, the CYD works to
hold the Canadian government accountable the UNFCCC's Conference of
the Parties. Working with other youth groups and allies from around
the world, the CYD will strive to challenge Canada's to increase it's
ambition and commitment to climate action on a global stage.
