Dear Paov,
It’s election season in BC, and there’s a lot at stake when it comes to clean air and water in this province, and safe climate for generations to come.
No matter who wins on May 9, all politicians in BC need to know that fracking for LNG is incompatible with climate action and protecting this province’s precious freshwater.
That’s why we’re organizing an art build and a creative action on the BC legislature lawn to send them and the whole province — a simple message: Don’t frack BC!
Whether you’re an expert at coming up with feisty and funny slogans or can paint within some lines, then we need YOU to help out at our Art Build!
There’ll be snacks and materials for banner-making too.
What: Art Build: No LNG - Don’t Frack BC
When: Thursday, April 27.
5:30 - 8 p.m.
Where: WC Victoria Office
(Map + Directions)
Once the signs and banners are painted, and your loud voices are prepped, we’ll be ready for the creative action on the BC legislature front lawn!
What: Anti-Fracking Creative Action
When: Friday, May 5.
10 - 10:30 a.m.
Where: BC legislature (Map + Directions)
The total emissions from fracked gas can exceed that of coal — no matter what government and industry says, this dirty fossil fuel is the furthest thing from a climate solution.
Let’s have some fun speaking truth to power this election cycle, and let’s tell every candidate running for office that they can’t frack our future!
