Monthly Organizing Meeting - Climate Convergence
Room TBAInterested in getting involved in climate justice activism? Join Climate Convergence for its monthly organizing meeting. We always welcome new faces. If you're from an organization that you would like to see supporting this kind of work feel free to come check out what we're doing. Climate Convergence acts as a hub for networking among various climate justice campaigns and organizations... but is also an emerging coalition that seeks to organize collective mass action as well as movement forums for discussing and debating key issues related to climate justice.Key items on the agenda this month:Monthly Climate Action - Paddle for the Peace, Kinder Morgan IntersACTIONUnsettling Canada Events/Actions

What exactly is a tenants union?Come find out and meet more of your neighbours at a public forum and information night. Join us Wed, May 31 at Gordon Neighborhood House to learn about the new Vancouver Tenants Union, and to share stories and hear from renters facing renovictions and other unjust treatment from landlords in the West End. If you want to sign-up as a member of the Tenants Union, just bring $1 with you or join directly on the website at TenantsUnion.ca. There's strength in numbers! Who: You don’t have to be a student! Anyone who self-identifies as trans, gender non-binary, and two-spirit is welcome!
Where: NEW LOCATION! University Club - University of Victoria (The UVic Grad House is closed for renovations).
When: Wednesday, June 28th, July 26th, & August 30th at 4:00pm. NOTE: we are not meeting in May because Aaron will be away in New York.
Why: To provide a casual and friendly space for trans, gender non-binary, and two-spirit folks to make connections and share knowledge.

If you've been thinking of cob, and especially Fast Cob!, here's a quick message to let you know our Summer is packed full of building with an East Coast Apprentice arriving soon, a Cottage coming along nicely on Denman, and 3 more Fast Cob! workshops scheduled for August and September.
Those workshops are getting full, too, so if you're interested in joining us this year, consider applying sooner than later to avoid disappointment. Here's the line-up:
August 19-26 - All the Basics: Fast Cob! from the Ground Up *** 4 spots remain
September 2-9 - All the Basics: Fast Cob! from the Ground Up *** 2 spots remain
September 16-23 - Learning to Live Off-the-Grid with Fast Cob! *** 3 spots remain

With the return of the sun today, I can hardly wait to get out and build that Cob Oven and Bench...enjoy the warmth!
