Here are upcoming social justice events: 1. Social Justice Film Night, Thurs., April 19, 7pm, 2994 Douglas (BCGEU Hall). Premier of two films for April film night: *Attack of the Drones - Is War Becoming a Game?* The film addresses the military applications of drones, how the air force is training more "desk pilots" than traditional ones, how police forces have started to use them more frequently to patrol for criminals. The level of detachment drone operators may feel with respect to their targets is analyzed, cautioning that some may see it as nothing more than a computer game behind the safety of a monitor. *Game of Drones:* *New Type of war crime that's going unpunished. * Unmanned drones are the modern weapons of choice in the fight against terrorism. The tribal areas of Pakistan where various militant groups seek a hideout have been hit by numerous CIA drones. The attacks are far from precise and it's... claimed they have often killed or maimed civilians, including children. this documentary interviews people targeted by drones and a former drone operator who became an anti-drone activist, all talk about the true extent of the collateral damage of these air-born killing machines.
