New report says it’s time to end fracking

BC’s provincial government continues to prop up fracking companies with staggering public giveaways, even as the world charges head-first into green energy. It’s time we put a stop to it.
Our latest report, Planet on Fire: Let’s end fracking in BC, exposes the damage fracking is doing to the province. Fracking companies are poisoning water, impacting Indigenous rights, polluting the atmosphere, threatening our climate and raiding public coffers.

Global production of fracked gas needs to decline three per cent every year until 2030 to maintain a safe climate. But Premier John Horgan wants to build liquified natural gas plants that would double the province’s output.In 2021, we’re going to turn the tide against this reckless industry and start envisioning an economy northern communities can actually depend on. Here’s how you can help:

- Write your MLA using our letter tool at EndFracking.ca. Ask them to stop giving out permits for new fracking wells and end subsidies to gas companies.
