Lend a hand for ancient forests and the Salish Sea

WC visits the Walbran Valley

Hi PAOV,

Next week come find out how you can help save the ancient old-growth forests of Vancouver Island and the fragile waters surrounding it!

On Wednesday, June 24th at 5:30pm, join WC Victoria staff for an overview of our Save the Walbran and Save the Salish Sea campaigns, and learn about ways you can take action and help us this summer with these two important campaigns.

This summer will be a very busy season for our Save the Walbran Valley campaign. Since logging company Teal Jones has targeted the central Walbran valley (the heart of intact ancient rainforest) for clearcut logging, we are ramping up our campaign to Save the Walbran by putting pressure on the BC government to halt old-growth logging NOW. We need as many volunteers as possible to help spread the word!

Plus, we have an exciting Salish Sea Tour coming up in July and we need help from volunteers to organize the Victoria stop on July 18th! WC is embarking on an epic solar-powered catamaran tour to celebrate the Salish Sea and promote community action to stop climate change! The purpose of this tour is to bring communities along the Salish Sea together to celebrate the beauty of where we live, discuss how communities can take action to protect our shared waters, and share stories of how folks are already taking on the challenge of climate change locally. Please join us next Wednesday to see how you can get involved.

We host our regular Volunteer Action Nights (with a different activity each month) on the last Wednesday of every month from 5:30 to 7:00pm at our Victoria office (#202, 3 Fan Tan Alley). Snacks are provided.

Please RSVP on our Facebook event pager0
