PAOV- Code of Conduct - Citizens Press is an open platform for expression on all the issues that concerns the People’s Assembly of Victoria and the global occupy movements, it is the responsibility of the contributors to uphold the code of conduct.

Our values are inclusivity, empowerment, awareness, creativity, community, diversity and respect. 

We will remove posts that have been reported and determined as are derogatory, intolerant, racist, sexist, intentionally malicious, bigotry and overtly counterproductive.

Removed posts will be given the opportunity to edit, resubmit and meet our code of conduct.

Thanks for everyone who came out last week to our open house and/or workshops on the renewal of the UVic Sustainability Action Plan for Campus Operations. Feedback and ideas from the campus community are welcome as we create a new plan to guide our work for the next 5 years and beyond.

Supporters and volunteers of Yes2SCS,

Our third volunteer orientation and strategy session will be held on Monday, March 10, 2014 from 6:30-8:30pm at the Central Meeting Room of the Victoria Public Library (Central Branch) at 735 Broughton Street. This is the room that faces Broughton and it is top-to-bottom windows. We will provide snacks!

This session will focus on turning what we've learned into action and getting to work on our first year campaign targets. Please come with an idea of which area you'd like to focus on, whether it be social media outreach, small scale 'salon' hosting, business liaising or creative expression!

Tomorrow we're kicking off a brand new, innovative project called ArtShift BC in Vancouver, Coast Salish Territories! 1911926_10100240001652788_1876975285_n.jpgArtShift is based on a belief that everyone has the capacity for creativity, and that when ignited, that creativity is a force that can move the world and make change irresistible. Are you coming to join us for ArtShift?

Participants will be introduced to a variety of creative skills and activities such as silkscreening, stencilling, street art and building large action props! Following the day’s workshops, the event will wrap up with spoken word and musicalperformances from local artists including Jeremy Loveday, Neelam Khare, JB the First Lady, Jesse Lebourdais and Corrina Keeling. We hope to see you at ArtShift, but if you can't make it don't worry because this is just the beginning. ArtShift is the launch of a creative action laboratory project with plenty of upcoming opportunities to get involved, like Fossil Fools Day! On April 1st, we're working with friends and allies across the country to pull together the biggest, widest reaching creative action ever. Get involved!

Leona Aglukkaq, issued a decision statement regarding the New Prosperity Mine in British Columbia's Chilcotin district, concluding that “the New Prosperity Mine project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects that cannot be mitigated. The Governor in Council (the cabinet) has determined that those effects are not justified in the circumstances; therefore the project may not proceed.”
