Ontario political party adopts strong animal rights policies

The Green Party of Ontario adopted aspects of our Animal Charter as official party policy this month, in the form of an Animal Bill of Rights. Party members also voted to ban battery cages for hens, abusive farm breeding practices, and animal testing on cosmetic and household products.

BUSTED: Dairy propaganda "science" exposed

We're in the Canadian Medical Association Journal this month, blowing the whistle on federal funding for dubious dairy "research" with a pre-determined goal: to convince consumers that dairy fat is healthy. This isn't real science; it's advertising dressed up as evidence. Meanwhile, many experts are sounding alarm bells about health concerns related to dairy consumption.

Earls backtracks on so-called "humane" meat

Animal Justice was in the spotlight during the Earls "Certified Humane" beef debacle this month, pointing out that Canada has virtually no legal standards for animal welfare on farms. Animal welfare is a public responsibility, and shouldn't be left to private corporations like Earls. It's time for government to regulate farms.
