Parliament debates animal protection bill
Bill C-246 - the Modernizing Animal Protections Act - was debated in Parliament this month. Despite broad public support, special interest groups are trying to kill this important legislation. We need your help to pass Bill C-246. Please find your MP, and send an email today asking them to protect animals from cruelty and abuse.

BUSTED: Dairy propaganda "science" exposed
We're in the Canadian Medical Association Journal this month, blowing the whistle on federal funding for dubious dairy "research" with a pre-determined goal: to convince consumers that dairy fat is healthy. This isn't real science; it's advertising dressed up as evidence. Meanwhile, many experts are sounding alarm bells about health concerns related to dairy consumption.
It's no longer OK to use animals for amusement
Using animals for entertainment is quickly becoming wildly unpopular. Animal Justice lawyer Anna Pippus writes in The Globe and Mail about the end of Ringling's elephant show and what changing societal attitudes mean for animal rights.
Earls backtracks on so-called "humane" meat
Animal Justice was in the spotlight during the Earls "Certified Humane" beef debacle this month, pointing out that Canada has virtually no legal standards for animal welfare on farms. Animal welfare is a public responsibility, and shouldn't be left to private corporations like Earls. It's time for government to regulate farms.
