Today is the last day of the Wet'suwet'en hearing in BC Supreme Court. Join us Tuesday to hear how it went.
Right now, Wet’suwet’en community members are resisting the transformation of their land and waters into a so-called ‘energy corridor’. Tomorrow, hereditary leaders will again face off against government and industry at the B.C. Supreme Court to defend the Skeena River’s sacred headwaters - and their ancestral home - from fossil fuel expansion. The stakes could not be higher for Indigenous land protectors. Can you donate to the legal challenge, and join forces with thousands of fellow citizens standing on the side of justice?
On last week’s webinar, we heard from hereditary leaders, a matriarch, and one of the lawyers for Wet’suwet’en. All shared the specific stories of how and why they are backing a judicial review that challenges Coastal GasLink’s fracked gas pipeline on the basis of human rights concerns.
Chief Madeek expressed his sorrow at the loss of his cousin, one of the thousands of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls who continue to be at risk due to man-camps installed adjacent to vulnerable communities.

Today marks 6 months of operations and serving our 30,000th healthy meal to community members in need! We couldn't do it without your support.
On Easter Weekend in April 2020, we activated our not-for-profit Community Meal Program in response to the pandemic – opening our doors at a time when most social services and food establishments were closing. Since then, we've grown from an ad hoc group of hospitality industry professionals and community leaders into an organization with more than 300 volunteers and partnerships with dozens of local businesses and community organizations.

October 24th is Election Day in British Columbia. By now, we are in the middle of this short provincial election campaign season!
This election is unlike any other previous election, coming in the middle of a pandemic, which is why it is so important for us to advocate for public health care in BC. If we don’t elect a provincial government dedicated to strengthening public health care, we could see many more seniors suffering in long term care facilities while the government cuts back on their commitments to community-based health care in this province.
But, if enough of us hold the candidates in this election accountable by asking for their commitments to seniors' care, Community Health Centres, and public solutions to improve our health care system, we can ensure that a future provincial government will protect and strengthen public health care.

It feels surreal to write this. I’m honestly a bit shocked and pleasantly amazed that our organization has reached the point where it is today and I’m thrilled to see what comes from today’s announcement.
Four and a half years ago a group of co-workers and I launched Iron & Earth with a press conference in Edmonton. I still remember how nervous and excited I was that morning.
At the time, our public goal was to train 1000 electricians into solar energy. Since then, our vision, mission and initiatives have evolved significantly thanks to the contributions of so many of you: passionate and wonderful people that have supported the organization to grow since that day.
Today marks another big milestone in our organization's history.
