Labour on Film

Labour on Film r1 ...

The good people at the Canadian Labour International Film Festival are celebrating their 10th anniversary this year. If you live in or near a centre where the films they have selected for 2018 will be shown then you'll see more about this year's CLiFF films in November.

But if like me you don't live in a major city you can still attend CLiFF. In fact you can host it in your town.

The really, really, really lovely thing about CLiFF is that it provides volunteer 'hosts' across the country with a 'festival in a box'. Fill out a form on their website and they will send you all you need to have a mini-CLiFF. All you need to do is provide a room and a projector or screen.

The festival is available in 3 convenient sizes: 60 minutes (the lunchtime special), 80 minutes and 120 minutes. Details HERE.

Thanks to the endorsement of our Labour Council I will be hosting CLiFF in Cobourg Ontario. So I know: it is painless. And fun. And a great way to get the labour movement out there in the community.

You have until midnight on 31 October to sign up as a host. Just fill out the form HERE.

You can see the films that the CLiFF folks have selected from a huge number of submissions from around the world by going HERE.
