A,

Last year Jamal, a 16-year-old Syrian refugee living in the UK, was filmed being thrown to the floor and doused in water at his school.

Hours later, the UK’s loudest professional racist, Tommy Robinson took to Facebook to live stream vicious lies about Jamal to his 970,000 followers. Facebook ignored its own rules and left the post up. Why? Because far-right pages like that one make Facebook a hell of a lot of money.

So A, Jamal is about to do something no one has ever had the guts to do. This brave schoolboy wants to sue Tommy Robinson for dragging his name through the mud *and* take on Facebook for letting him flout its own rules.

But a landmark case like this could ground to a halt if we can’t get the cash to pay legal fees together right away -- so Jamal’s asking for your help, A.

Tommy Robinson is the founder of the English Defence League - a violent far-right group that whips up racist hatred and demonises immigrants.

Since Robinson’s live stream of lies, Jamal has faced harassment on his own doorstep. He’s too scared even to go to school.

Sadly, Jamal isn’t the only victim of this kind of viral exploitation. Hate is a lucrative business for the likes of Facebook.

Last year an undercover investigation revealed that Facebook protects far-right activists from its own rules because “they have a lot of followers so they’re generating a lot of revenue for Facebook.”

So whoever becomes the next victim of a far-right racist live-streamed rant can’t count on Facebook to follow its own rules if there’s money to be made.

And Jamal is living proof that the words of loudmouth racists have a real, painful impact on peoples lives -- as if we needed any more. In 2017 after an attack on a mosque in London the former head of UK counter-terror policing said: there was no doubt social media posts by the likes of Tommy Robinson had driven the attacker to plough a van into Muslim worshippers that night.

If Facebook can’t stop a man as dangerous as Tommy Robinson from spreading dangerous lies, something is seriously wrong.

So A, if you help Jamal win this case, you could put an end to Facebook’s special treatment for dangerous racists like Robinson. Please, can you pitch in today to get this landmark lawsuit off the ground?

The thought of taking on a giant like Facebook can seem pretty daunting. But that’s the magic of SumOfUs members like you -- every coin from every individual like you adds up. We’ll never be able to match Mark Zuckerberg’s deep pockets -- but if enough people like you chip in we can take him on.

And we’ve been working around the clock with Jamal’s kickass legal team, who are cooking up a lethal legal case to take on Facebook. That’s not all -- they have BIG plans to expose the murky web of money behind Tommy Robinson, so we'll be one step closer to bankrupting his hateful agenda.

But the only way this will become a reality is if people like you work together to make it happen.

This isn’t the first time SumOfUs members like you have taken on the tech world: with our partners Sleeping Giants, we’ve stopped over 2,000 companies from advertising on white supremacist site Breitbart, otherwise known as Trump News.

And members like you have taken down Tommy Robinson before. Last year, thousands of you took action to stop his hate-filled cash flow by getting him booted off PayPal -- and it worked!

So A, it’s time to put Facebook and Tommy Robinson in the dock. Are you in?
