Fast track the bee saving pesticide ban
Bees are dying and we need to fast track the solution save the bees in Canada.
Call on the federal government to pass to ban neonics by the end of 2019.
A,
Bees are dying -- and all the evidence is pointing towards toxic neonic pesticides as being the main culprit for the death of these vital creatures.
Because of the support of over 200,000 SumOfUs members like you, we got Health Canada to ban neonics, but it won’t take effect for 3 to... 5 years. This is WAY too long. The bees can’t wait for action.
There is one way to fast track the ban on neonics: through federal legislation. The federal election is just around the corner, and if we speak out to our MPs in all major political parties now, they are sure to listen.
When the EU decided to ban neonics, the ban came into effect within months, not years. Yet Canada continues to drag its heels on taking action. And unless we act quickly, it could be too late.
The science is clear, and Health Canada agrees that we need to take action. So why the delay? While Canada waits to enact the ban, bees are dying and many beekeepers are concerned their bees won’t recover.
SumOfUs has been fighting to protect the bees from neonic pesticides for years. Because of hundreds of thousands of members like you, we convinced the EU to ban the three biggest neonics. Not only that, we secured a total ban of neonics in France.
The bees need us to advocate for them and, together, we can make the neonic ban in Canada happen now and protect the bees.
Canada: save the bees and ban neonics by the end of 2019.
Thanks for all that you do,
Angus, Amelia, and the team at SumOfUs
