The whales can't wait

Just recently, a baby whale died after plastic bags jammed its stomach.

This a global emergency. But with your help, we can stop corporate fat-cats polluting our planet with plastics.

Will you please make a small monthly gift now to power our anti-plastic campaigns?

A,

A 7-year-old whale recently washed up on a beach in Italy. This... sperm whale was just a baby -- it likely starved to death because its stomach was stuffed full of plastic.

This is not an isolated tragedy, A. Millions of pieces of plastic are swirling around our oceans, trapping, choking and starving seabirds, turtles, seals, dolphins, and majestic whales.

But together, you and I, we can stop it. Already, incredible SumOfUs members like you have forced brands like McDonalds to cut back on plastics. Together, we’ve pushed through game-changing legislation to stem the tide of plastic waste that ends up in our oceans.

But it’s not working fast enough. We need companies to create eco-friendly products, supermarkets to pull plastic off the shelves and politicians to make corporations take responsibility. A small monthly gift from you would make so much possible.

A, can you make a monthly donation now to save whales, seabirds, and turtles from plastic horror?

Every single minute, a truckload of plastic junk is dumped in the world’s oceans. Scientists are warning that if we don’t stem the tide, there’ll be more plastic than fish in the ocean by 2050!

Your monthly donation will allow our small but nimble team to run targeted digital campaigns to save our oceans from the plastics crisis. Just like when we helped force countries to strengthen an international treaty to stop plastic waste being dumped on poorer countries.

Your donation will create hard-hitting videos and ad campaigns to force politicians, corporate giants like Nestlé, and supermarkets around the world to save our marine life.

There’s a huge challenge ahead, but momentum is on our side, A.

Politicians are finally listening to what we’ve been saying for years. Plastic bag taxes. Bans on plastic items like straws, stirrers, and earbuds. And even some corporations like McDonald’s are getting rid of plastic straws in countries where people are paying attention.

But we can’t ease up and take our foot off the pedal.

Corporations and the plastic lobby are desperately trying to stop laws that will save our planet but harm their profits. We’ll never have their money or resources but when we team up, we can be more powerful than even the biggest corporation.

Can you make a monthly donation today for all the creatures of the ocean?

SumOfUs is 100% independent: we take no money from governments or corporations. This means we can do the work that needs to be done, when it needs to be done.

We rely on the support of amazing members like you, who power our work to put people and planet over profit.

That’s why a monthly donation is the most powerful form of your support you can give, A.

If we know we have a dependable income every single month, we can be bolder in our tactics, and roll them out faster. It also means we can spend less time fundraising and more time running and winning campaigns.

So with your ongoing support, we can make companies and our countries take action to protect our fish, birds, and oceans that are literally choking on plastic pollution.

Because the truth is, if we’re going to solve the world’s plastic problem, it’s going to take all of us working together.

So A, please can you set up a monthly donation today?
