Friends,
Normally, I wouldn’t email you on a Sunday like this, but I have an important and urgent request.
In 20 minutes, the CBC’s flagship national call-in show, Cross Country Checkup, will start taking calls about climate change. We have a chance to make it crystal clear to the CBC that people all across Canada want them to host a climate debate before this fall’s federal election.
Today’s Cross Country Checkup topic is “is it wrong to eat meat?” And, while they’re making the link to climate change and animal agriculture, they’re also missing the point.
Animal agriculture is an important source of emissions for us to tackle, but climate change isn’t just about what we eat. It’s about fossil fuels and the massive economic transformation we need -- like a Green New Deal for Canada.
That’s why a climate debate is so critical, so voters like you and I can know which of our politicians have a real, comprehensive climate plan. If you click here, you’ll be taken... to a page with all the resources you need to call Cross Country Checkup.
Will you take a few minutes to call in with our one-click system? We’ve got some tips and a script to help you get on the air.
We can make a federal leaders’ climate debate happen if we speak up together.
Onwards,
Cam
