It’s an exciting, historic moment! Today the BC Government introduced a law to implement the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. We are celebrating this historic occasion, and we are asking you to join us.
This legislation makes sure that Indigenous people in British Columbia enjoy the same rights and protections as everyone else in the province. If a project, or a law, or an investment impacts First Nations communities, then they... will have a say. For the first time in Canadian history, Indigenous peoples will be brought into decision-making at ground level, not left as an afterthought.
