NEW DATE! The T'Sou-ke Hills: What's Up & What's Next
(Info Session, Q&A)

Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 6 PM
Juan De Fuca Library Meeting Room
1759 Island Highway, Colwood

Curious about what is going on in the T'Sou-ke Hills and what's next?
Too many moving pieces and details to keep track of?

Join Friends of the T'Sou-ke Hills Wilderness for a presentation and Q&A session on the issues, threats and visions for this beloved magnificent local forest of our region.

Following the news that the provincial government will not be pursuing an alternate route to the Malahat through the local forest, we are keen to celebrate and capitalize on this victory in the new year.

We'll help make you sense of the details, probe deeper into the issues, connect the dots and then discuss ways we can come together as a community to ensure this wilderness remains intact for the sake of all beings and future generations.

The T'Sou-ke Hills stretches from Goldstream Park in the east, Sooke HIlls Wilderness Park in the south, Koksilah Provincial Park in the north, all the way westward to Diitiida (Jordan River) and beyond! It currently encompasses regional parks, water supply areas, sacred Indigenous sites, and forests where logging is being undertaken.

This massive forest is the traditional territory of the T'Sou-ke, MÁLEXEȽ (Malahat), Sci’anew (Beecher Bay), Pacheedaht and Cowichan Tribes.

This event is taking place on lands stolen from the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations and the territory of the Teechamitsa family in particular.

Please take a moment as well to sign our petition calling for an outright moratorium on all industrial logging within the boundaries of the Capital Regional District.

The Social Environmental Alliance membership would like to acknowledge this event will be taking place on the unceded territory of the Lkwungen speaking people.
