Workers at DOLLARAMA are being forced to restock shelves without masks and gloves and cashiers don’t have protective glass partitions.
Tell DOLLARAMA to support its workers during this deadly pandemic by providing protective gear and paying an increased danger wage.
A,
DOLLARAMA has been deemed an essential service during this COVID-19 pandemic. But the multi-billion dollar company is refusing to provide workers with gloves and masks and many of the cashiers don’t even have a glass partition separating them from customers.
Workers are endangering their lives for minimum wage.
Walmart, Loblaws and most major retailers equipped their workers with appropriate protective equipment weeks ago and provided them with an increased danger pay, to try to make up for the risks involved in showing up day-in and day-out for work.
No worker should have to put their life on the line to put a roof over their head... and DOLLARAMA stands alone in its industry in its complete disregard for its workers. Now is the perfect time to support frontline workers at DOLLARAMA who deserve danger pay and safe working conditions.
Call on DOLLARAMA to support ALL its employees.
Stores like DOLLARAMA that are deemed an essential service are protecting their employees with glass partitions, security guards and protective equipment. But not DOLLARAMA.
And, instead of raising the minimum wage workers’ hourly rate by $2 - like a majority of Canadian retailers - DOLLARAMA stiffed its workers by raising their hourly wages by a measly $1.25.
After nearly a month into this pandemic crisis, DOLLARAMA’s actions show that it cares more about saving a buck than saving the lives of their employees and customers.
SumOfUs members have shown just how powerful this movement is becoming. When we put pressure on Uber, they quickly reacted by offering 14 days paid leave to workers diagnosed with COVID.
Will you tell DOLLARAMA to respect pandemic rules and give workers the correct protective gear?
Thanks for all that you do,
Luca, Amelia and the team at SumOfUs
