Sign our open letter and tell Biden to stop Keystone XL once and for all

Can you take a minute to help me out today? I think Biden needs to hear from you. r1

I need to ask for your help. As you no doubt know by now, it’s been just about 48 hours since the Associated Press declared that Joe Biden will be the next President of the United States. And, as the media all across Canada has been reporting, Biden promised to cancel the Keystone XL pipeline during his first 100 days in office.

But, it’s becoming increasingly clear that Canadian oil lobbyists and Trudeau's cabinet are gearing up to try and convince Joe Biden to go back on this promise. Just yesterday, Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne told the CBC that persuading Biden to build Keystone is at the “top of the agenda” for Canada.¹

That’s why the 350 Canada team put together an open letter urging President-Elect Biden to ignore the voices in support of Big Oil and, instead, listen to the people, in Canada and the US, who want bold climate action and massive investments in good, green jobs. Click here to add your name to the letter.

The... fight to stop the Keystone XL pipeline has been a long one. It’s been nearly a decade since we were first arrested protesting this pipeline in front of the White House, and I’m ready to finally put this project behind us.

I believe that Joe Biden will keep his promise. But we need to do whatever we can to make sure that happens, and that means standing up to Justin Trudeau, Jason Kenney, and their friends in the fossil fuel industry. Our movement in the US is ready to do what we need to do. But we need your help. Please sign the letter and make it clear that people in Canada don’t want Keystone XL.

4 years of Trump’s inaction on climate has cost the world too much. It’s more important than ever for President-Elect Biden to accelerate action on climate. It’s truly unacceptable that the Trudeau cabinet’s top agenda item is to weaken Biden’s position on climate. Thousands of people have already signed this open letter but we need as many signatures as possible to send a clear message to President-Elect Biden: it's time to stop KXL once and for all.
