I am about to ask you to make a $3.50 contribution this #GivingTuesday to help build a movement strong enough to dismantle the fossil fuel industry. Every donation today will be matched — dollar for dollar — so your contribution will go twice as far to protect our planet and communities.
But first, I hope you will allow me just a moment to say why your support — especially today — matters so much to the success of our organization and our movement:
In Canada, campaigners are fighting to stop tar sands expansion. In the United States, organizers are on the ground fighting the Line 3 pipeline and gearing up to demand bold climate action from the Biden administration. In Europe, activists are winning major divestment campaigns and pushing the financial sector to divest from fossil fuels. In the Pacific, community leaders are protecting the wellbeing of present and future generations of Pacific Island people from unprecedented climate disasters.
Our movement is powered by lots of people making small donations. That is truly the only way we will... build the kind of movement that can defeat the fossil fuel industry.
But it is going to take a lot of donations today to keep up with our opponents, and I can't do it alone:
