Last week, we hosted Victoria’s first Festival Afloat concert on Victoria’s Gorge Waterway, benefitting West Moberly First Nations’ legal challenge to Site C. It was a magical, water-borne night of drumming and music: together, we raised $8,716 for West Moberly!
Don’t live in the city? No problem! You don’t have to live in Victoria to join in on the fun. This Thursday will be our second golden evening on the water, and the event’s ticket purchases and donations are being MATCHED by two generous donors.
This is your LAST CHANCE to have your donation to West Moberly First Nations legal challenge matched! Matching funds will end this Thursday, July 29th.
Double your Donation!As Chief Roland Willson says, the Site C Dam is unsafe, unnecessary and unlawful. Site C would be the third hydroelectric dam on the Peace River, which would flood the Peace River Valley and leave no land for West Moberly’s constitutionally-protected Treaty rights to hunt, fish, and trap. Please, donate to West Moberly’s legal challenge to the Site C Dam now and double your impact.
If you happen to live in Victoria, we invite you to join us for the second floating dock concert on the Gorge happening this Thursday, July 29th at 6pm at the Victoria Canoe and Kayak Club, 355 Gorge Road West. Pull up your paddle board, canoe, kayak or even your inflatable flamingo! If you aren't comfortable on the water, you can watch from land too at the club.
