Join our strategy call this Tuesday to hear our plan to win climate real action.
r1Paov,
Media outlets across the country are reporting that Prime Minister Trudeau will call a snap election this Sunday that could happen as early as September 20th. 1
The next federal election is set to take place as Canada literally burns from an escalating climate emergency with wildfires expected to last "until the snow falls" this year.2 Voters will head to the polls just weeks after the release of the latest IPCC report, a stark warning from climate scientists. UN Secretary-General António Guterres called it “a code red for humanity" that should act as an alarm bell for world leaders and a death knell for fossil fuels.3
That’s why we’ve got a three-part plan to ensure the climate emergency takes centre-stage in the upcoming election and we wanted you to be among the first to hear it. Will you join us this Tuesday to learn more about our plans?

I’ll be honest, Paov. I’ve had moments of despair this week. Even in the face of unprecedented climate impacts and a clear warning from the world’s top climate scientists, Canadian politicians aren't getting it. The same day as the release of the IPCC report, Environment and Climate Change Minister, Jonathan Wilkinson, went on national TV to tell millions of people across Canada that we somehow need the Trans Mountain pipeline to fight climate change.4 Make no mistake -- pushing fossil fuel expansion right now is climate change denial. And Trudeau and his government are peddling it. We can’t accept this status quo, especially with an election coming up.
But I'm also hopeful. Over the last few weeks, more than 20,000 people have signed the petition calling on Trudeau to act like we’re in a climate emergency by stopping fossil fuel expansion and delivering Just Transition legislation.
Then, on July 29th, people in over 40 communities across the country took to the streets to demand climate leadership from our Members of Parliament. Dozens of MPs and federal election candidates signed the pledge to champion climate action but dozens also refused. That’s why we have to keep the pressure up to make the standard for real climate action crystal clear in the lead-up to the election.
Save your seat for our call this Tuesday to hear our strategy for ensuring that climate is a top issue in the upcoming September election.
Onwards,
Chris
PS - Over 20,000 people have signed the petition calling on Trudeau to act like we're in a climate emergency. If you haven't yet, add your name now. Let's make sure that our demand for climate action is the last one he hears as Prime Minister before entering an election.
