Dear Friend,

In November 2020, we launched our lawsuit against the RCMP commissioner for the extreme delay in responding to our complaint against the RCMP for illegal surveillance of climate organizations and Indigenous land defenders..

On September 21st, we went to court, face to face with the RCMP, holding this powerful institution accountable for their inexcusable actions.

Our work doesn’t stop here. No matter the outcome of this case, we will fight hard to make sure that the rights and liberties of those who are most impacted by civil liberties and human rights violations are heard by courts and lawmakers.

The BCCLA pays particular attention to the needs of marginalized communities, and we will continue to step up to bring meaningful change for all. Will you become a member today to help us hold these big institutions accountable?

We are going to court for important issues. We are writing letters to challenge racist policies and laws. We provide resources so people can be informed of their rights. All of these work wouldn’t be possible without the support of our community.

Join our community that stands firm to the commitments to better our world, one that guarantees civil liberties and human rights for all, through history.
