PAOV — A cull of white-tailed deer is planned in Longueuil parks, in order to control the growth of the population. Petition starter Mikaela is urging officials to find a more humane alternative solution. Last year, a cull was cancelled and over 32,000 people are demanding it be cancelled again. If you think the white-tailed deer should be protected, sign the petition.

Les citoyens s’opposent avec détermination à l’abattage des cerfs de Virginie comme méthode de gestion du cheptel de Montréal. Nous demandons l’application d’une combinaison de méthodes de stérilisation et de déplacement des animaux vers les refuges, sanctuaires, et zoos qui désirent les accueillir. Nous rappelons à tous les responsables que lesdits animaux son grandement appréciés par tous les visiteurs des parcs urbains et que les anciennes méthodes de gestion ne sont plus acceptées par les citoyens.

The citizens are firmly opposed to the killing of deers of Montreal as a way of controlling the number of animals. We are asking for the sterilization and the moving of animals towards sanctuaries and zoos that are willing to accept them. We are reminding decision makers that these animals are greatly appreciated and that old ways of solving overpopulation are not accepted.
