TOMORROW: Mass Organizing Call

Learn how to support the International Week of Action to Defund Coastal GasLink r1

Paov,

You’ve probably seen the images and videos of hereditary chiefs and land defenders being forcibly removed at gunpoint by the RCMP for protecting their lands against Coastal GasLink's fracked gas pipeline.

In the wake of these brutal scenes, land defenders from Gidimt’en checkpoint have called upon allies to take action to hold the investors, owners, and financiers of the Coastal Gaslink pipeline to account.

That’s why we’re joining forces with groups across the continent to support an International Week of Action to Defund Coastal GasLink starting on December 20th.

RSVP to the mass organizing call starting at 4pm PT / 5pm MT / 6pm CT / 7pm ET tomorrow (Tuesday, December 14th).

Eve Saint, Wet’suwet’en Land Defender, and Amy Gray, Senior Climate Finance Strategist at Stand.earth, will share details about the financing behind Coastal GasLink and and share why it’s so urgent and important to take action.

After you RSVP for the mass organizing call, check to see if there's already and action registered near you. Consider hosting an action if there isn’t one already on the map.

There's an action toolkit to get you started and our friends... at Banking on a Better Future will be able to support you too. Reach out to them at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you have any questions.

As Molly Wickham from the Wet’suwet’en Nation has so powerfully said, “Reconciliation isn’t financing a project that’s destroying our land, without our consent. Coastal GasLink has not engaged in respectful consultation with us. Backing this project implicates investors in perpetuating violence to our land and on my people.”

See you on the streets,

Katie
