Hospital parking

PAOV — Frontline workers at provincial health care facilities in British Columbia have been paying reinstated parking costs for a month, after Health Minister Adrian Dix restored fees that were dropped at the beginning of the pandemic. Healthcare workers are still asking the Minister to end parking fees for workers, so that they are not forced to pay hundreds of dollars every year just to park at work. Please sign and share this petition to help us stop The Minister of Health from re-instating paid parking in BC for our local essential front line workers.

The Minister of Health Adrian Dix is re-instating paid parking on March 4, 2022 at all provincial health care facilities. He states "non-hospital users are taking advantage of the situation to park for free while conducting business that is not hospital related."

Instead of charging health care workers, who do not have the option of working from home during the pandemic, why not provide a free parking pass for them to display in their car.

Not all of the health care facilities can be experiencing this problem, because many have a parkade with fob access. Health Authorities are also charging their staff for parking when staff are on vacation, off sick, and working over-time.

Help us end paid parking for the Provincial Health Care Workers of BC.
