Paov,

In Alberta, declining production from conventional oil and gas fields has left 170,000+ inactive wells and more than 136,000 hectares of disturbed land. The RenuWell Project aims to accelerate the clean-up of these sites, while also utilizing the existing roads, powerlines, and disturbed lands to reduce the costs for renewable energy projects. Due to the collaborative efforts of the RenuWell Project partners and with the support of the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre, the RenuWell pilots are breaking ground in Spring 2022!

Iron & Earth and Medicine Hat College are key partners in the RenuWell Project. We’ve been hard at work shaping a customized upskilling program that will prepare fossil fuel industry and Indigenous workers for careers in future RenuWell projects, as we look to scale this project model. The program is now finished and we are ready to deliver... the first RenuWell Workforce Training Program!
