The property that is home... to the Last Chance Horse and Pony Rescue and Sanctuary - 4269 Michener Rd, Ridgeway, is currently included in the Niagara Region’s Proposed Urban Boundary Expansion Fort Erie Site #3 for the purpose of future residential use.
Please take the time to sign this petition to have this proposal changed to EXCLUDE this property from future residential use.
Last Chance Horse and Pony Rescue and Sanctuary, a nonprofit registered Canadian charity has called this property home for the past 12 years. Our Mission statement is to rescue abused, unwanted and neglected horses and ponies to provide them a loving forever home. The Rescue is beneficial to the community through our many programs and events; Therapy Miniature Horse Program, high school students are able to complete their community volunteer hours, organizations such as Anchors Away and Community Living bring their residents to visit and bond with the horses and participating in local festivals. The proposal will also have a negative impact on the wildlife and surrounding green space. The land is a corridor for deer, geese, foxes, etc. Your support and signature will enable the Rescue to continue to serve our community and support our existence as a Sanctuary !
