Yesterday, we got some big news out of Ottawa. The Parliamentary Budget Officer confirmed, yet again, what we’ve known for a long time – the Trans Mountain Pipeline (TMX) is losing us billions of public dollars during a climate emergency.1
Of course, this isn’t a surprise. For years, Justin Trudeau and his cabinet have sworn that TMX would pay for the transition off fossil fuels. But this report confirms what Indigenous nations, environmentalists, and economists have been saying for nearly a decade: spending a single cent on TMX spells disaster for the economy and the environment.
At a time like this, neither people nor the planet can afford this kind of climate delay.

Justin Trudeau says big things when it comes to climate change but his climate record shows years of climate delay, denial and broken promises. This Trans Mountain news is just the latest in a long line of putting fossil fuel interests ahead of the public good.
It’s time to stop wasting money on pipelines and invest in bold action like a Just Transition. It’s time to End Climate Delay. Take action on June 29th.
