Paov,
Today communities across the country will remember the 619 lives lost in the 2021 Heat Dome in BC, and call out federal politicians for continuing to delay real climate action.
From Moncton to Salt Spring Island to Whitehorse, we’re gathering outside MP offices today to honour those we lost and demand our politicians deliver the bold Just Transition legislation we need to avoid a future of worsening climate disasters.
If you can’t make it to an End Climate Delay event in person, you can still show your solidarity and make a big impact today.
Since the Heat Dome tragedy, the federal government has approved a massive new offshore oil project, given the Trans Mountain pipeline a $10 billion loan guarantee, and failed to deliver the long-promised Just Transition Act. This reckless climate delay is putting us on a dangerous path of worsening climate disasters.
Hundreds of people will take to the streets today to demand an end to fossil fuel expansion and immediate action to deliver a Just Transition Act. If hundreds more add our voices by flooding the phone lines of federal politicians across the country, we can make sure our message gets through. Show your support to all those taking action today and call your MP using our easy one-click call tool.
Onwards,
Chris
