Our campaign to elect a climate champion as BC NDP leader has begun. Our virtual call centre is up and running, and volunteers have started calling tens of thousands of Dogwood supporters across the province.
But we’re missing one thing: you.
If you have any time over the next 24 days to phone climate voters and get them to help pick the next premier, please join one of our short training sessions.
The two candidates, David Eby and Anjali Appadurai, will have months to make their pitch to BC NDP members. But already there’s a stark contrast between them on fracking and pipelines, Site C, old growth logging and Indigenous rights.
Before Appadurai jumped in, the party had shrunk to just 11,000 members. Every new member we sign up increases the pressure on both candidates to make stronger commitments – and ups the chances of a climate champion taking over the premier’s office this fall.
