Hey Paov,
Parliament has been back in session for just two weeks and already the climate emergency has forced its way to the top of the agenda. Last week Hurricane Fiona devastated communities from Puerto Rico to Port-aux-Basques. Now Hurricane Ian is causing widespread flooding in Florida. These monster hurricanes are the direct result of climate inaction. For far too long, the fossil fuel industry has spread denial and delayed progress without any consequences. Only the federal government can hold them accountable. And only a people-powered movement can make them do it.
All month we’ve been flooding Trudeau with thousands of messages demanding bold action to stop fossil fuel expansion and ensure a rapid, just transition to 100% clean energy. The submission deadline is tomorrow. Paov, can you spare one minute to help us send a final wave of messages from across the country?
We still have time to prevent a future where climate disasters like Hurricane Fiona become the norm. But only if we take decisive action now. Can we count on you to help?
In solidarity,
Emma
