voting day this Saturday, Oct 15

Email Template r1 PAOV,

Municipal elections are this Saturday, October 15. Do you have your voting plan yet? I'm heading to my municipal hall around 10 a.m. before I go grocery shopping.

Local governments have a big role to play in tackling climate change, especially when it comes to cutting pollution from our homes and public buildings, and keeping people safe when catastrophes strike. That makes this municipal election one of the most important we've ever had.

Most polling places will... be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., but check your local municipality's website to confirm voting times and locations.

If you're still not sure who you're voting for, your local paper is often a good source for candidate profiles and community-centred coverage. And in municipal races, often family and friends will actually know a candidate or two. Try reaching out to people whose opinions you trust. That's what I did here in North Saanich.

Keep in mind, your vote counts even if you don't choose a candidate for every open seat. If you're only confident on one, two or three people, it's better to vote for a few than not at all.

Happy voting!

Christina
