Dogwood News This Week: party crashers

news and action Saturday December 10, 2022
B.C. ministers, media and the premier himself drove onto the grounds of Government House for the Cabinet swearing-in ceremony on Wednesday under a banner that read “End Fracking Eby”.

As the province’s highest officials stepped off the bus for their photo op, their moment was drowned out by the sound of Dogwood staffer Paige Gorsak on a megaphone, chanting “The climate is heating, the NDP is sleeping.”

The Cabinet swearing-in was a key piece to the premier’s introduction to office. And it was taken over by Frack Free BC and our message to government: end fracking now.

Frack Free BC is a new alliance of environmental organizations (including Dogwood, Stand.earth and Wilderness Committee), community groups and individuals from across the province, working together to build a movement to end fracking in B.C.

Watch Frack Free BC in action, including media clips and a message from “woman on the megaphone” Paige Gorsak.
