Sign this message to President Joe Biden: Issue an executive order requiring federal contractors to disclose their political spending.

Republicans are blocking critical dark-money legislation. Americans deserve to know who is trying to influence them, and what they want from the government.

Republicans have won the House, making the passage of the DISCLOSE Act — a legislation that would shine a light on secret money spending in politics — very difficult. Despite broad support from the general public for shining a light on secret money in politics, Republicans in Congress have opposed and even blocked a vote on this critical legislation.

So long as Congress is unable to pass this critical legislation, it’ll be up to the Biden administration to take the needed steps to protect and strengthen our... democracy and rebuild public trust in our government.

Secret political spending has the potential to impact the allocation of federal contracts, which are used to provide us with essential services like repairing our roads and bridges. That’s why it’s critical we know who is spending what so we can rest assured that our tax dollars go to the most qualified to do the job, rather than those who pay to play in our federal contracting process.

With the stroke of a pen, President Joe Biden can issue a contractor disclosure executive order which would shine a light on secret money in politics by requiring contractors that receive over $1 million in federal dollars to disclose their political spending. This would be the first major blow to secret money in politics since the Citizens United ruling in 2010.

Americans deserve to know who is trying to influence them, and what they want from the government.
