Dear friend,
Charlotte asked me to take this one on—she’s working with our fundraising team on their busiest week of the year. I want to update you on our challenge goal for this week.
Before I do, it’s important you know where this money goes. Your donation with the Council of Canadians goes directly to support making political waves for people, the planet, and our democracy.
Unlike many non-profits, we don’t take a penny of corporate or government funding. More than 92% of our funding comes from people like you. This means your donations are critical. This is the grassroots donation base you’ve seen recently in progressive political campaigns that undermines the power of big business.
I’m proud to say the Council has been championing this model for decades.
OK, I’m getting off my soapbox now.
Let me conclude by saying this: we need you. At the beginning of this week, Charlotte and I set a goal to raise $13,000 before Christmas Eve.
With only 14 hours to go, we have reached $7,579.75.
