It’s been hard to ignore the burning topic across much of North America right now: wildfire smoke.As senior editor Elaine Anselmi writes, fires out west, in Quebec and in northern Ontario have imperilled communities closest to them; the oppressive smoke elsewhere has put the value of clean air into sharp focus. (On Clean Air Day, no less. No, this isn’t a cruel joke.)
With Canada set to experience its most destructive wildfire season ever, we couldn’t help but wonder: how is the smoke affecting readers of The Narwhal? Is it hard to breathe for people who work or play outdoors in Ontario? Is the smoke disrupting your daily commute in Quebec? Are British Columbians masking up as they head outside? What do Prairies skylines look like in the backdrop of relentless blazes?
