“Canada is burning”

Join our National Organizing Call in response to this state of emergency. r1

Paov,

This week, as I was celebrating my son’s first birthday, Prime Minister Trudeau announced Canada is anticipating its worst wildfire season on record.

In Trudeau’s own words, “Canada is burning.” From coast to coast to coast, major wildfires are sweeping through every province and territory except PEI and Nunavut. A staggering 130 fires are devastating Quebec alone, while tens of millions of people are breathing dangerously toxic smoke. Air quality warnings extend as far as the United States. All this, while political inaction persists in Ottawa.

In response to this crisis, our 350 Canada team is hosting a National Organizing call next week. On the call, we’ll share a plan for an Emergency Day of Action. Will you join us?

Here are all the details:

What: National Organizing Call on the Climate Emergency
Where: Online on Zoom
When: Thursday, June 15th at 4pm PT / 5pm MT / 6pm CT / 7pm ET / 8pm AT / 8:30pm NDT
RSVP: Register online and we will send you a Zoom link

This is the first year of my child’s life. I can’t imagine what future years will look... like if our politicians don’t act with the courage needed to confront the climate emergency head-on.

We can’t afford to wait any longer.

Let’s make it impossible for our federal leaders to ignore the urgency of the climate crisis.
Join us on Thursday if you’re ready to take action.

Onwards,

Atiya
