Campaign Update
Have you seen? Earth Day Cuts Ties with SodaStream.

Have you heard? The best resource to Burst the Bubble on SodaStream arrives in your inbox.
This may be a bit immodest, but I think the Seattle chapter of Jewish Voice for Peace may have just launched the single best new resource for understanding the role SodaStream plays in Israel’s occupation of Palestinian land.

Sure, seltzer might keep our stomachs working through a week of eating matzah, but SodaStream keeps the gears of military occupation and theft of Palestinian land turning. Which is why we need your help to build power towards prioritizing Palestinian land and water rights over the green bucks of corporations like SodaStream.
In fact, campaign successes go well beyond Oxfam choosing to distance itself from SodaStream spokesperson Scarlett Johansson. Just this week, the Earth Day Network agreed that companies profiting from human rights abuses have no place in the global environmental movement, and cut ties with SodaStream.

Throughout the month of April, our New York chapter, working as part of the NYC Coalition Against SodaStream, gathered over 1,000 signatures outside of Zabar’s. We’re asking them to do the right thing and take SodaStream off the shelves. Activists wrapped up the month by filling up the sidewalk on a rainy Earth Day chanting “Lox, bagel and a schmear, but get that SodaStream out of here!”
Our D.C. chapter launched the first ongoing SodaStream action at a crowded mall in the DC area, with monthly rallies educating the community. And in Boston we’ve engaged a historically progressive local hardware store and are mobilizing shoppers to "buy alternatives" to products that entrench Occupation.
We will continue campaigning against SodaStream from Minneapolis to Portland, and in cities across the U.S. to remind consumers that buying products manufactured in stolen land is neither ethical nor sustainable.
Let’s Burst the Bubble on SodaStream together,

Stefanie Fox
Co-Director of Organizing
