The Harper Conservatives just approved the Enbridge Northern Gateway pipeline and super-tanker plan, but if we all pitch in, it will never be built.
Please help us decide what to do next...
Like us, we know many of you will be feeling extremely disappointed that this government is ignoring both the growing urgency of climate change and the overwhelming public opposition to this reckless mega-project.
All eyes will now be watching to see the reaction. The stronger our opposition to Enbridge Northern Gateway, the harder it will be to push tar sands pipelines through local opposition anywhere across Canada.
Now we need your help to decide our next steps.
All across BC, and all across Canada, people are going to be opposing this pipeline in many different and effective ways. The goal of all these tactics will be to delay construction, and ultimately kill the pipeline, no matter what the Harper Conservatives say or do.
We'd like to know what you want the Leadnow.ca community to focus on.
What do you think we should do together to stop Enbridge’s pipeline and supertankers project?
1. We should donate to support First Nations legal challenges - I'll chip in!

All along its proposed route, over 130 First Nations stand united in their opposition to Enbridge. Communities across BC have flexed their democratic muscles voting against Northern Gateway by council votes and plebiscites. When polled, two-thirds of BC residents consistently reject the pipeline.
We know that many of you will be feeling outrage, sadness, and frustration as you consider what this decision could mean for our communities and for our future on a warming planet. It’s precisely in these times that we must reach out to each other and find support with those who have been part of this journey of organizing together to stand up to Enbridge Northern Gateway.
The Leadnow.ca community is committed to work for an open democracy, climate justice and fair economy. The Harper Conservatives’ decision on Enbridge Northern Gateway could hurt Canada’s future in each of these areas.
In turn, the opposition to Enbridge’s pipeline and super-tanker project is bringing people together - supercharging movements that are going to make this country a better place for everyone.
With determination,
Jamie, Logan, Matthew, Rodrigo, Jolan, Anna and the whole Leadnow team
