Dear Friends,

Susan Stevenson, Mentoring Clerk of Canadian Yearly Meeting and a member of Vernon Monthly Meeting, died early Friday morning, August 29th, in hospital in Nelson, British Columbia, where she had been admitted early Tuesday morning. She had been living with a return of cancer over the past 8 months and continued to actively fulfill her roles as Presiding Clerk until the rise of Yearly meeting two weeks ago, then Mentoring Clerk.

Both Susan and David, her husband, have felt greatly blessed in the many ways they have been supported through this journey, by messages from Friends across the country, by their local community, by the health care system, and by the thoughtful care given. David asked that Friends be informed as soon as possible of Susan’s passing, and of their gratitude for this support.

Those of us who have worked closely with Susan over the years will greatly miss her - her groundedness, her thoughtful engagement in our Quaker community, and her deep love of life and the beauty of the biodiversity around her.

Please hold the Stevenson family in the Light at this time.

In Friendship,
