The past several years have shown us the devastating cost of winner-take-all voting in Canada. In 2015, we need to elect candidates to a majority of seats in Parliament who will vote YES to making every vote count.
Reaching 100,000 signers on our our petition - the Declaration of Voters' Rights - would send a powerful message at election time to the party leaders, the candidates and the media that Canadians want a fair and proportional voting system. Together, we can become a force too big to ignore.
To hit this goal, we need your help. We don’t have a big advertising budget behind us, and we don’t have the media in our pocket. What we do have is each of you - passionate supporters of democracy, with people-power!
To help us get closer to reaching our goal, we are running a Declaration Signers Contest. Sign up now to tell us you will collect a minimum of 3 new signatures by October 19, 2014. On October 19, exactly 365 days before the next federal election, we will draw 13 names and each winner can choose a prize. Le 15 septembre, c’est la Journée internationale de la démocratie de l’ONU, et la première journée de la Semaine de la démocratie au Canada.
Nous sommes 36 000 signataires de notre pétition pour une représentation proportionnelle - La Déclaration des droits des électeurs. Si chaque personne qui reçoit ce courriel demandait à quelques amis qui soutiennent la représentation proportionnelle de signer la Déclaration, nous atteindrions 100 000 signataires! S’il-vous-plaît, engagez-vous à récolter 3 signatures dès aujourd’hui!
Depuis de nombreuses années, nous avons pu constater l’effet dévastateur du système de vote uninominal à un tour au Canada. En 2015, nous devons faire élire une majorité de députés qui voteront OUI pour faire en sorte que chaque vote compte.
Atteindre 100 000 signataires pour notre pétition - la Déclaration des droits des électeurs - enverra un message puissant aux chefs de partis, aux candidats et aux médias lors des élections comme quoi les Canadiens veulent un système de vote équitable et proportionnel. 100 000 voix pour des votes qui comptent est une force trop grande pour l’ignorer.
Pour atteindre ce but, nous avons besoin de votre aide. Notre budget de publicité est très limité, et nous n’avons pas les médias dans notre poche. Ce que nous avons, c’est chacun d’entre vous - nos supporters passionnés et détenant le pouvoir du peuple!
Afin de nous aider à atteindre notre but, nous organisons un Concours des signataires de la Déclaration. Inscrivez-vous maintenant et dites-nous que vous vous engagez à récolter au moins 3 nouvelles signatures d’ici le 19 octobre. Le 19 octobre, exactement 365 jours avant la prochaine élection fédérales, nous tirerons au hasard 13 noms parmi les participants qui choisiront un prix.
