We're winning again – because of you

SPECIAL REPORT: We did it! Obama – YES, the President! – spoke out against Big Telecom’s Internet slow lane plan.1

Paov, just over a month ago, we took your voice and millions of others around the world into a special invite-only White House meeting with Obama’s senior advisers.2

It’s truly only because of your support that we got this opportunity to amplify everyone’s voice.

During our meeting we told Obama’s advisors that the President needed to speak out against Big Telecom’s slow lane plan in the strongest way possible.3

And on Monday, he did exactly what you, me, and over 5.1 million people from 180 countries around the world asked him to do. In a formal address, he said:

“No service should be stuck in a ‘slow lane’ because it does not pay a fee.”4

THIS IS HUGE, and an unbelievable win for Internet users around the world.

Obama’s statement... sets a strong standard for other countries currently deciding their own Net Neutrality rules.5

What’s Next?

Now, the person who has to decide those rules – U.S. FCC Chair Tom Wheeler – is up against the wall. He’s trying to buy time.6

Your OpenMedia team has met with two FCC commissioners in recent weeks to make sure they know where we stand.

With your support we’ll keep playing a leadership role in this work and alert you at key moments when your voice matters most.

Stay tuned and thank you for making all this possible,

–Josh on behalf of you OpenMedia team
