International Women’s Day is March 8. Let’s send a strong message to federal leaders. We want a televised debate on women's issues so that we know where the parties stand before the October election.

My name is Matt. I’m 39 years old and I live in Ottawa with my partner, seven-year-old daughter and two-year old son. I work at the Ottawa Coalition to End Violence Against Women running a program that empowers men and boys to challenge violence against women wherever we encounter it.
I believe my daughter should have all the same rights as the boys in her class at school. When I go to vote this October, I want to know what our political leaders will do to make that happen. That's why I joined the Up For Debate campaign, and am urging you to sign our petition calling on all party leaders to participate in a nationally broadcast leader’s debate on issues affecting women and girls.
Problems like violence against women aren’t just a “women’s issue.” They impact families and communities, and they matter to people from across the country. And sadly, politicians are not talking enough about solutions for these problems!
The last time federal leaders debated these issues was 1984 -- over thirty years ago. We need to make sure that every party leader stands up in 2015 to speak out about how they will create a country that works for women, as well as men. Please help make this happen! Sign our petition calling on all party leaders to participate in a nationally broadcast leader’s debate on issues affecting women and girls.
Over 130 organizations have come together to call for this debate. I’m putting my voice behind it. Join me and help make this happen!
