Friends,
Good news: we've spooked the National Energy Board. They've just re-opened the application period to intervene in the Energy East pipeline review for one week -- giving Big Oil an opportunity to make up lost ground.
2/3rds of the applications submitted so far have come from the climate movement, and now we have a chance to push that number even higher. Every application submitted puts PM Harper in a serious bind, and pushes our demand for a climate review of Energy East even forward.
This is a simple process that takes a few minutes. Here’s what it takes to apply:
- Click here and open this link for the NEB’s review page.
- Follow this step-by-step guide to apply to the NEB.
- Once you've finished, click here and register your application.
Over 1200 people have already taken 10-15 minutes to file climate applications, and with this extra week we can file hundreds... more.
Every application to intervene in the review forces the NEB into a big dilemma: either they back down and allow the full climate impacts of Energy East to be included as a part of the pipeline review -- or reject an overwhelming majority of applicants, further eroding public trust in their review process.
We’re clearly having an impact. Let’s push our advantage.
Onwards,
Cam Fenton
