UN special rapporteur on water says human rights should be a component of all SDGs
The Blue Planet Project is calling for the explicit recognition of the human right to water and sanitation in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Climate change and water scarcity are interrelated concerns
Council of Canadians chairperson Maude Barlow has tweeted a Reuters news article that
reports, “Water scarcity could lead to conflict between communities and nations as the world is still not fully aware of the water crisis many countries face as a result of climate change, the head of the U.N. panel of climate scientists warned on Tuesday.”
Is Line 9 destined to become a tar sands export pipeline after all?
The Portland Press Herald reports that a pipeline that runs from Portland Maine to Montreal may be targeted for reversal, allowing it to connect to Line 9 which runs from Sarnia to Montreal and thereby export diluted bitumen from the Alberta tar sands by supertanker to overseas ports.
