Antarctica is under assault from industrial-scale corporate fishing. 80% of the krill population has been wiped out -- and an explosion in sales of krill oil as a health supplement threatens to push the ecosystem over the edge.
We're creating a powerful animated video to tell the story of Antarctica's devastation and put serious pressure on corporations, but we need your help to make it happen.
Will you chip in to help stop the plunder of Antarctica?

Dear Paov,
Antarctica.
It’s the last place on Earth still almost entirely unspoiled by humankind. No human even set foot there until 1895. It isn't controlled by any nation -- it’s everyone’s collective responsibility to protect.
But now modern industrial fishing operations are threatening the Antarctic ecosystem by vacuuming up massive quantities of Antarctic krill.
Krill are the main food source for whales, penguins, and seals and a critical link in the global oceanic ecosystem. But after depleting the world’s oceans of fish, corporations are now scraping the bottom of the food chain -- and since 1970, 80 percent of the Antarctic krill population has been wiped out.
An explosion in the popularity of krill oil as a health supplement threatens to push the krill over the edge. We're creating a compelling animated video to spread this message far and wide -- but only if we can count on you to help. Will you chip in to help save krill?

Just because Antarctica is far away doesn’t mean it’s not important. In fact, Antarctica plays a critical ecological role in the entire global ocean ecosystem.
Antarctica is home to nearly 10,000 species, many found nowhere else. And krill are the heart of it all, providing 96 percent of the caloric needs of seasonal birds and mammals.
Destroying the base of the food chain puts everything else in danger.
And with the explosion in popularity of krill oil as a health supplement, the threat is growing. Total krill harvest capacity has increased by 44 percent in just the last two years.
It’s unconscionable that corporations like supermarket giant Walmart and US pharmacy CVS are making money selling Antarctic krill oil while sustainable alternatives are readily available.
Will you chip in to help fund an animated video to put pressure on corporations to do the right thing for Antarctica?
